Kittoch Lane Semillon Sauvignon 2006

Kittoch Lane Semillon Sauvignon 2006

Kittoch Lane Semillon Sauvignon 2006

Kittoch Lane is a mouthwatering combination of round Semillon and racy Sauvignon - the grapes behind Bordeaux’s finest whites. ”It’s a traditional Bordeaux blend but we like to think we do it with more verve and with really fresh Aussie fruit flavours!”, Sam Trimboli, Winemaker When Sam was making this wine all it lacked was a name … until one day wandering the vineyard Sam stumbled upon an old letterbox. Using a handful of grapes to clean away the grime the name Kittoch was revealed. Apparently the vineyard’s creek reminded a former Scottish owner of the creek which runs through the Kittoch Valley near Clyde! Herbaceous Semillon provides wonderful food-friendly weight and tropical fruit character, given a citrus zing by the Sauvignon. Pale gold with glints of green, orange blossom aroma and round flavours of lemon and honeydew melon. Crisp, refreshing and very long. Enjoy with calamari, grilled snapper or antipasti.

Yarrunga Field 2006

Yarrunga Field 2006

Yarrunga Field 2006

Thirteen vintages after customers delighted in its Gold medal debut, the exceptionally moreish and supremely versatile Yarrunga Field is not only going strong … it just keeps getting better and better! And here’s the 2006 to prove it. One of our original ’sunshine in the glass’ wines, it is made by multi award-winning Sam Trimboli. Sam has always made Yarrunga in tiny volumes - less than 1% of some supermarket big brands and with loads more character - and this vintage is no exception. Bright straw colour and refreshing aromas of pineapple, citrus and oaky, vanilla hints. Deliciously versatile. The crisp, long-lasting melony flavours complement soft cheeses, poached salmon, roasted poultry or Asian dishes.

Long Terrace Semillon Chardonnay 2005

Long Terrace Semillon Chardonnay 2005

Long Terrace Semillon Chardonnay 2005

Welcome back Long Terrace! It’s been four years since we’ve been wowed by a new vintage of this old favourite … fitting then that the long-awaited return is crafted by a winemaking genius in a remarkable year for Australian wines. ”2005” has turned out brilliantly” wrote fine wine critic Robert parker of this vintage Down Under. A relatively cool Summer yielded superb fruit, especially for Oz star whites, Semillon and Chardonnay. Give a master like Sam Trimboli premium grapes, step back and hold out your glass! He has created a wonderfully aromatic wine, with all the exotic fruit of past vintages but far more elegance. White peach and citrus blossom aromas, a spicy, citrus finish. An extremely refreshing and satisfying mouthful!

Barooga Station Verdelho Chardonnay 2005

Barooga Station Verdelho Chardonnay 2005

Barooga Station Verdelho Chardonnay 2005

”The success of Verdelho in Australia is an extraordinary phenomenon” says leading Oz wine critic James Halliday. This Portugese grape was originally used solely in the production of Madeira but Down Under it produces a superb, lime-scented, honeysuckle white. Here it’s a perfect partner for ever popular Chardonnay, giving typical sunshine-in-a-glass melon and pineapple flavours an aromatic, citrussy edge - the perfect alternative to over-oaked, over-priced big brand Aussie whites. Indeed for excellent, everyday drinking wines full of sun-drenched ripe fruit - look no further than the delicious Barooga Station , courtesy of the family-run Riverina Estate. The wine wizard here is Sam Trimboli (200 plus medals a year), the winery high-tech and yields are kept low for clean, flavour intensity.
